Got an itinerary change email that looks a little too strange? This Thursday cruise update starts with a correction: Royal Caribbean says the email claiming Utopia of the Seas' October 26 sailing swapped the Bahamas for Cozumel was fake, and the ship stayed on Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay. Before you change any plans, check your itinerary in the Royal Caribbean app or your cruise line's app.
In this Wander With Milford cruise update, Milford explains the Bahamas rip current and coastal flooding risks this week, the next front expected this weekend, how Margaritaville at Sea Paradise ended up a day late, where Tropical Storm Vance stands off Mexico, and why Mein Schiff 3 is still stuck in Bremerhaven.
You'll also hear about Virgin Voyages' Sailor Loot ending tonight, Carnival's Spooktacular Early Saver Sale, Royal Caribbean's BOGO60 and Kids Sail Free, Margaritaville at Sea's Black Friday early access, the Celebrity and Princess fall sales, plus Villa Vie Odyssey's halt in Cambodia, Royal Caribbean's big quarter and Sandals deal, Disney Cruise Line's new accessibility features, and the SS United States becoming an artificial reef.
This week's updates include:
• Correction: Utopia of the Seas' October 26 sailing did not change to Cozumel; Royal Caribbean told Cruise Hive the email was fake, and the ship kept its Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay calls (our October 26 episode got this wrong)
• The Bahamas Department of Meteorology warns of hazardous seas in the northern Bahamas this morning, life-threatening rip currents and a coastal flooding risk through tonight, with another front bringing near-gale gusts late Friday through Sunday
• Margaritaville at Sea Paradise skipped Freeport, added Nassau and returned to Palm Beach a day late on October 28; the next sailing was shortened with a prorated credit and a $50 future cruise credit
• Tropical Storm Vance has 40 mph winds about 300 miles west-northwest of Manzanillo as of the NHC's 2 a.m. MST advisory, with no coastal warnings, and is expected to become a remnant low late today; heavy rain and dangerous surf remain possible in western Mexico
• No Atlantic tropical formation is expected in the next 7 days
• Mein Schiff 3 and the two container ships it hit are barred from sailing for now; TUI canceled the 20-night Canary Islands cruise and is reviewing later sailings
• Virgin Voyages' Sailor Loot ends tonight, October 29, at 11:59 p.m. ET
• Carnival's Spooktacular Early Saver Sale ends October 31; Royal Caribbean's BOGO60 and Kids Sail Free run through November 2
• Margaritaville at Sea's Black Friday early access runs through November 3; Celebrity's Fall Sale and Princess's Fall Savings Sale run through November 5
• Villa Vie Odyssey halted its residential world cruise in Cambodia over fuel costs and plans to try to restructure within 60 days
• Royal Caribbean Group reported $5.6 billion in third-quarter revenue and is buying 50% of Sandals and Beaches Resorts, expected to close in early 2027
• Disney Cruise Line added haptic vests at the silent disco and Braille and tactile guidebooks
• Princess opened its 2028-29 Australia and New Zealand season with 90 departures
• The SS United States will be sunk as the world's largest artificial reef off Destin-Fort Walton Beach on November 12

Hikers can walk the South Kaibab Trail to the Colorado River again. On October 26, Grand Canyon National Park reopened several inner-canyon trails damaged by this summer's flooding, and Gulf Islands National Seashore says every area is open again after Hurricane Isaias.
In this Wander With Milford national parks roundup, Milford walks through what's open at the Grand Canyon and what isn't, then checks in on the Outer Banks, where the state hopes to reopen N.C. 12 on Pea Island with a one-lane detour by Friday while Hatteras Island stays closed to visitors. Plus a new forecast for Kīlauea's next lava fountain, a reopened Kauaʻi lookout, winter on the high roads and storm damage in the desert.

- Hatteras Island: NCDOT's goal (not a promise) is a one-lane N.C. 12 detour at Pea Island by noon Friday, October 30; the visitor evacuation is still in effect, with no date for visitors to return; areas north of Oregon Inlet are open
- King tides: Kingsley Plantation at Timucuan Preserve closed October 28 for coastal flooding; high-water cautions at Biscayne
- Kīlauea: USGS now forecasts episode 56 lava fountaining for November 1–7 (model-based; it has shifted before)

- Desert storms: closures at Death Valley, Chaco Culture, Saguaro, Bryce Canyon and Joshua Tree
- Big Bend: the response to the government's Supreme Court stay request in the border-wall case is due October 29
Ready to hike to the river at the Grand Canyon or catch Kīlauea's next show on the Big Island? Wander With Milford helps you line up the route, the lodging and the timing. Book your next adventure at wanderwithmilford.com.

Black Friday offers are already showing up in the all-inclusive world, but several of the best deals on the board end long before November 27. Hurricane Vance, a Category 1, is slowly weakening well off Mexico's Pacific coast with no coastal watches or warnings, and the Atlantic is quiet.
In this Wander With Milford all-inclusive update, Milford walks through this week's deadlines, the early Black Friday calendar, who actually qualifies for the credits and kids-free perks, and what resort credits, blackouts and extra fees leave out of the brochure price.
This week's updates include:
- Sandos Week: code RESORT26, up to 45% off at Sandos Caracol, Playacar, Cancún and Finisterra, book direct by today, Sunday, October 25; the up to $500 resort credit is a coupon booklet, holidays blacked out.
- Club Med holiday offer: up to 40% off on certain dates, kids under 4 free, book by Tuesday, October 27, check-out by April 30, 2027; airfare not included, membership fee extra.
- Sandals 777: an extra 7% off seven featured suites, this round ends Tuesday, October 27.
- Garza Blanca Los Cabos Black Friday Early Access: 3 nights for the price of 2 with TAFER Rewards sign-up, book October 24 to 31; Couples Resorts Jamaica free-night offer listed through October 31 (confirm participating resorts).

- Early Black Friday: Hyatt Inclusive Collection via Travel Impressions, book by November 19; Velas Resorts main sale November 17 to December 3 for travel by December 17, 2026; Bahia Principe Early Booking through November 17.
- Hurricane Vance: 85 mph at the early-morning advisory, no coastal watches or warnings, heavy rain possible in Colima, Michoacán and Jalisco through Thursday, dangerous surf on Mexico's Pacific coast.
- Jamaica one year after Hurricane Melissa: Sandals South Coast reopens November 18, Sandals Montego Bay and Caribbean Cay December 18, JOIA Rose Hall in December.
- Sandals and Beaches are renaming 15 resorts with island-first names; no switch date yet.
- Openings: Amàre Cancún October 31, TUI BLUE Curaçao November 1, Iberostar Waves Tucán and Quetzal December 1, JW Marriott Costa Elena now open.
- Mexico's 2027 visitor fee increase awaits a Senate vote; sargassum still heavy in the Riviera Maya and Punta Cana per one tracker.
- Tips: read the resort credit fine print, add up the extra fees, and double-check renamed or reopening resorts.
